Hi there - has anyone else done this?
I have been on WW for months now and its always a little scary moving
away from something that works but I am not paying for it after my subscription
runs out as I am at goal weight but I would like to lose 3-4 lbs more to get in a safe zone.

I have done this - mfp works great for accountability and tracking - different from ww of course but works just as well. No more "free" fruits & veggies - you can keep to the same principles as ww if that works for you - low carbs and more lean proteins - you can even change settings to reflect that.2

Yes weigh measure absolutely everything it's amazing how fruit and vegetables add up

Hi Jen,
I have dabbled in both MFP and WW. I find that I benefit greatly from the kinship of live WW meetings. (I am not at goal.) I think it is much easier to balance nutritional intake using the MFP tracker, however. If you want to eat junky food, it is still possible to do so within the WW weekly points; but if you want to be *real* about good nutrition, MFP is definitely the way to track.
Here is an interesting (albeit tedious) comparison: input a day's food intake first into MFP (to check nutrition values), and then into WW Smart points. Generally, a 'good' MFP day = a 'good' day of WW Smart Points.

You'll have so much more freedom just using MFP to count your calories! I used WW when it was Points Plus and it worked for me for a while but I got tired of paying for it as well.1

i recently switched from WW to MFP. I think most people get sick and tired of eating the same thing over and over again. I'm not one of those people. I found myself eating 10 apples and 7 bananas a day and staying way under on points. And, being male and 290 lbs, I had 57 or so points I could eat per day. (Most people get somewhere in the range of 30). With the "free" foods, I was at a plateau for over 6 months.
Switching to MFP was pretty easy as I was a "poster boy" for tracking in my group. I THRIVE on detail, and that is absolutely something that MFP gives me. I've lost another 14 lbs in the last 90 days.2
