I am now on DAY 8 of watching what I eat. I have been doing GREAT lately.. till about 1 hour ago! Heres a basic breakdown of food intake. I have tried cutting out breads and pastas and sugers
4:15- UP
5:00- Exercise 30 min
5:45- Protine/ Fiber Shake
7:30- Breakfast (3/4 cup Egg Whites, 2 tbsp Peco)(Coffee 1 tbsp Creamer)
9:00- Slice WHOLE GRAIN bread, Peanut butter, Jelly sandwich & Watermelon about 250 g
12:00- Chicken ~George Forman~, Granola Bar <-- 100 calorie bar, Carrots
2:00- Egg White, Watermelon, Honey Dew, Cottage Cheese
4:00- Pine Apple, AppleSauce
7:00- Chicken, Broccoli

SO I have been CRAVING carbs today... I went and bought a blueberrie bagel.... It was twice as big as any other bagle i've seen, but i didnt want a whole bag of them calling my name.... Needless to say i treasured EVERY bite, but it didnt seem to really help.... I still feel BLAH. I have NOOOO ENERGY! none gone.. zip, zero, zilch

ANYONE ELSE DO THIS FEEL LIKE THIS??? what did you do to get over the hump? Did it take days?? What shold i do??

When you eat a large amount of carbs, the simple carbs, and no protein along with it, your blood sugar will spike causing a 'high'...then a little while later it will drop significantly, causing the lethargic-like feeling you are describing. The best thing you can do to solve this problem is stay away from the refined carbs, and stick to fiberous whole grain carbs. Yeah, not as exciting as the white stuff, but your body will thank you. :)

I also recently cut my carb intake to 40% from 60%... I am always craving carbs and wishing that I could eat more of them! Well I tried that for about 3 weeks and now I just broke down and had all kinds of carbs yesterday. :)

I would suggest like kdiamond said - have a carb AND protein. And, if your body is craving it, perhaps it is something you need to eat! Maybe have an extra slice of toast at breakfast to give you some energy for the day.

I know personally that if i dont eat carbs w most meals i feel very sluggish and no energy 2 work out. So theres no way i can do the low carb diet. I just stay really balanced and do whole grains or wheat and its worked really well 4 me. I use whole wheat tortilla wraps, orawheat sandwhich thins, Quaker has multigrain crips like blackberry pomegranate(they taste like crunch berries!)wheatthins has a whole grain option 2. So even if my breakfast is primarily protien w egg whites and turkey bacon i just grab a few crisps or something to give it a little carb kick and i seem 2 have energy thruout the day. Everyones different, my mom can do low carb and have tons of energy. But my mine seems 2 work for me i eat all day and have energy all day. You can look at my diary- i was bad this weekend and didnt log anything but the other entries should give u a good idea. Good luck
