Hi, my name is Tiffany and I'm almost 230 pounds. To be honest, I'm pretty tired of it.
I'm on my third day of actually (trying) working out and counting calories, and I'm pretty scared I'll lose the inspiration like I did multiple times in the past. I'm a huge introvert so writing this at all is extremely intimidating but I figure if I poke in and say hey I'll feel more obligated to continue I'm more inspired than I've ever been before thanks to starting college and gaining some control over my life. (I actually tried the first day of C25K today but my shoes skinned my ankles and my dog wasn't having it after the third run cycle hehe)
But yeah, hi!

Greetings. What kind of dog you got? Never heard of a dog who doesn't like to run. Also kudos on trying out the C25K. Yeah, good running shoes are just one of those things you're going have to bite the bullet and splurge on. Running a marathon is on my bucket list so I'll have to save my pennies to get some shoes.

Thanks! And it's not that she doesn't like running, it's that she's a medium sized terrier mix, and doesn't go out as much as she should. (Technically my mom's dog, and she never takes her out so I walk her when I can.) I was going to leave her home but when I put my tennishoes on she got all excited and then sad when I didn't grab the leash.
The shoes are alright. I got them in 9th grade though and obviously haven't broken them in much, so that goes to show just how much I've been running in the past :x running is something I've wished I could do for so long but today was the first time I actually went and tried it. I plan to try again on Wednesday with longer socks and without the dog haha0 -
my dog hates running with me hates going on walks. Get the zombie run app. its so much fun you will be surprised and disappointed when your time is up. Dont be afraid to walk. I walked for nearly 6 months when i first started before starting c25k.0

The zombie run app! I forgot about that! Going to grab it right now and try it out on Wednesday, thanks I walk a lot to clear my mind, so I might as well push myself to walk slightly faster. I think the dog would appreciate that more hehe. Maybe I'll walk my dog the days I don't run to get that extra mini cardio in.0

Oooh! I second the Zombies, Run app! It's the only app I've ever subscribed/paid the additional subscription to so I could unlock episodes early. It's so much fun and really intimidating when you hear them through your earbuds.
Anyways, WELCOME!! Remember, the first few weeks are the hardest. When I first started, I made it a goal to just see my MFP streak go up to 30 days and then to 60/365 before I reset it to start the countdown again. Doesn't matter if you did bad that day, just always log everything everyday!!

You can definitely do this. I do want to point out though, that relying on inspiration or motivation or whatever isn't wise. You'll likely lose it at some point- I think most of us do- at least in stretches. So the key is to build good habits and discipline while you're feeling good about the whole thing and then when the motivation wanes, you can fall back on those. And it's smart to be reaching out & find some friends you can relate to and that can help keep your health at the forefront of your mind. Wish you the best!0
