Calories in, calories out. Abs are made in the kitchen....you can of course do lots of abdominal work (I love my pilates twice a week) BUT...the best way to lose belly fat is to eat less calories than you burn. Unfortunately, can't spot reduce and sometimes the belly fat comes off last. (that and the inner thighs...ugh!)3

Cut out processed foods
Imho , not all calories are created equal2 -
Isn't it a bit ironic that guys with a beer belly just want a six pack?3

You can't lose fat only from a certain part of your body, unless its liposuction. Its genetics where you will lose them depending on your fat percentage. Some people have visible abs on higher fat percentages, so they have them only when very low. All you can do is watching your calorie intake, and eating at a caloric deficit. Once you reach a certain body fat, you will have those bad boys come out.0

I agree 100%
eat clean. No processed food, no corn, beans or dairy. I didn't know I had abs before I cut out all that *kitten* out of my diet.3 -
Watch your sugar intake and cut processed foods.0

You can't spot reduce much but my PT suggested that anything that spikes your insulin is more likely to go on the gut and suggested cutting or reducing refined sugars, sweeteners and alcohol helps get rid of the tummy. But the main thing is a calorific deficit overall. BTW I'm not endorsing what my PT said was fact, just passing on what I was told by someone who's in a lot better shape then me and helps people get fit for a living. (I have reduced none of these things personally but may give it a crack closer to goal weight as my belly is always the last thing to go and my problem area also)
I also believe there is merit to "all calories are not created equal", a diet of mars bars and hitting CICO will not be as healthy as eating a balanced, cooked from scratch, diet.2 -

Eat anything you want, just less than your TDEE.
