Lost 40.. gained over 60

A few years ago I had lost well over 40 pounds.. down to 165 but now I am back up above my previous starting weight.. 225.. Its time to lose it again and this time actually keep it off. I cleaned out my friends list because while I was proud of them for their accomplishments.. I didn't really feel supported by them and I didn't feel comfortable telling them I needed more attention.. So this is me saying it in the most public way I can on here. I need people that I can talk to about the weight loss. About the hard days. Where I can post about how much sweat I think I dripped and not be judged for it. So if you're someone who is always wanting to post about those things then lets be friends. I want to laugh at how badly my running form is but then have a good talk about what I need to work on. And of course in return I will talk to you about your workout and give my 2 cents.. or I can just say you did great. Which ever works for you. If you see that I haven't logged in for a few days.. send me a message and yell at me and tell me I am never gonna lose the weight if I quit, and again I will do the same for you. I want supportive people but also people aren't going to be afraid to tell me the truth. So if you think that's you then please by all means add me. I won't mind at all

Several years ago I had lost 175 lbs. But it found me and brought friends. Back on track thanks to this amazing app that makes tracking my daily activities and caloric intake so easy.

Focusing on running (not running form...) is part of the problem. It happens to many people.
You are probably not getting enough protein so running burned your muscle mass and therefore lowered your BMR.
It is a vicious cycle.
If you do not lift to at least maintain your muscle mass then it will become harder and harder to keep the weight off and your body fat percentage will be higher every time you put any weight back on.
If you just "lose weight" you will lose fat and muscle in almost every case.
Heavy (for you) weight training adds attractive muscle all over, helps prevent osteoporosis in women and offsets losses due to sarcopenia.
Adding muscle also raises your BMR. Jogging / running does not do any of those things.
Look at all the people on the "Biggest Loser" who put all that weight back on after the show because they were mostly playing around with pink dumbbells and focusing on Steady State cardio while "competing."
After leaving the show they put the weight right back on.
Look it up. Almost every one one of them have gained the weight back.
Hit the weight room and focus on barbell lifts if you want to keep the weight off.
"Thinner Leaner Stronger" or "StrongLifts5x5" are good choices to start with.
TLS has a lot of information on proper nutrition in it, while SL5x5 is free.
Do HIIT cardio on off-days or after lifting, instead of Steady State cardio.
40 minutes running or on the treadmill will not take the place of 10 minutes doing sprints. Period.
Efficiency-wise, the only reason for running or jogging is if you are training for something that requires it like marathons, PT tests, etc.
HIIT cardio is superior in every other case I can think of offhand.0 -
Thank you for your input Cqbkaju I will take into consideration but for now I will focus on just running and some body weight exercise until I feel more comfortable doing serious sweating exercises0
