switch from stress eater to stress non-eater

Hi!
I've always been a stress eater, but after being consistently good with my diet since january and now being really happy with my weight, something in my head seems to have switched.
This last week I've had a short romance end, which I took pretty hard, but I know it will be fine in a couple of weeks. It's just that in the meantime, I'm having trouble eating. My stomach feels all jittery and acidic and nauseated.
Has anyone had any luck dealing with this psychological symptom? I've never been through this before, even though I've had bad breakups before, I always ate my way thorugh them. I don't want to go overboard and crash my metabolism, so I'm forcing myself to eat my usual three meals, which is horrible.

Maybe if you don't feel like eating try drinking smoothies? It will kind of trick your brain and tummy. So you aren't eating but drinking your calories. That way you get your nutrients. Try adding protein powder to it. Hope this helps at all..
good luck!

Sorry you're going through a rough patch. It's common for that mindset to change. I know how it feels when you have to force yourself to eat, but just keep doing your best & you'll be better than ever!0

It is fairly common to lose your appetite after a break up. I sure did, which was odd for me because I was always a comfort eater before that, Sometimes out bodies deal with things in strange ways. I suggest focus on your emotional wellbeing, because once that gets better I'm sure your appetite will return. Try not to put too much pressure on yourself, and maybe try more calorie dense food, instead of big portions so that you don't get overwhelmed. Things like peanut butter, nuts etc.
Once you are starting to feel better and eating more try to exercise, it really helps, I found boxing particularly therapeutic. Haha.
I hope you feel better soon :flowerforyou:0 -

Thanks guys. The smoothie idea is a good one, I could definitely do that. And nuts is a good idea too, I will give that a try.0
