Hey. I'll be short and sweet. My name is Sade, I'm 21 and I'm from South Africa. For the longest time I've been down emotionally dew to my weight. People assume that being 174cm and 50Kgs is living a dream,but for me it's a nightmare. For as long as I can remember i I was teased and bullied. I eat and eat but nothing works. I'm afraid to go to the gym in fear of being looked at like I don't belong there. My confidence is low and I need a boost. I've recently started gyming at home and try to up my calorie intake with a Hyper mass. I'm willing to work hard and aim to please.

There are both nice and ugly people most places you go. Hopefully the nearby gym has more nice people than ugly ones, and the nice ones will support and encourage you on your journey to bulk up. I wish you well in your endeavours, and try to be kind to yourself! The stupid people that tease and bully are the problem, NOT you!1

The nice thing about being an adult is that you have greater control over your environment. I'm sure plenty of us were bullied for a number of reasons. The boys in my school used to beat me up. It takes time to recover. The reality is the teasing and bullying isn't about you, it's about them. Their weaknesses, their insecurities, and their lack of compassion. And who knows what their home life is/was like.
Is your local gym able to give you a week or two free trail? That would give you the chance to check out the atmosphere. Most people at the gym are focused on their own goals, so you might find it less of an issue than you think. Most importantly, work on your relationship with yourself. These types of childhood events can cause a lot of damage. Be kinder to yourself. It might sound strange, but don't let your inner voice carry on the torment that you experienced by others.1 -
