Help with calories burned

I have a polar heart monitor that's also an activity tracker . Why are calories so high ? For burned with sedentary calories at 1200 and then adding in 1000 that would be 2200 and it's only 5:30 pm lol. Any help is much appreciated

if its one you wear on your wrist its most likely adding in your BMR(what your body burns just to function) to the equation.it will add what you are burning plus your exercise/being active calories as well.so thats why the calories would be high.0 -

Wrist worn HR monitors are notoriously inaccurate. Don't go by that or get one that straps around your chest.0 -

My Vivofit does too but I chose to not get it because the majority of my workouts are swimming, and bluetooth doesn't work well under water. I use the average calories used given me by several swimming calorie counters and eat back about 75% of those. I don't eat back stepping calories unless I go on a hike or something. My loss has been where I expect it to be.0 -

Your tracker is going to tell you your total burn for the day, including BMR, general activity and exercise. I've done very little today (under 500 steps) and have burned ~1,000 calories. I burn ~ 100 an hour by just existing (I'm 6').0
