I started my weight loss journey over two years ago, as a woman at 277bs and 5'5". I had joined the weight loss program medifast and dropped to 170lbs. However, I suffer from anxiety and depression that kicked up severely and after maintaining for a year I rapidly gained weight and am now 222lbs.
My eating habits havnt changed since the full year of maintaining, and I gained the weight in 3 months, out of no where! Im so desperate to lose the weight again, that even a 2lb a week goal doesnt seem like enough. I know I shouldn't push it, but im so stressed about gaining the weight, and feel such a need to lose it that I actually feel physical illness eating and PAIN in my stomach. But im sure it is all in my head. I just want to lose 72lbs in less than a year, after working so hard to begin with. Im tired of all the fat shaming im getting from family and the people around me...
Is there a safe way to lose a large amount of weight in a short time?

Have you seen a doctor about your rapid weight gain of 50lbs in 3 months?
There are medical reasons that can explain such that should best be looked at and ruled out.
Start by logging everything you're eating and calculating how many calories it is.
If it doesn't support such a weight gain (i.e. if you're not eating at least 2000 Cal a day above your maintenance, which means if you're not regularly eating in the 4000 Cal range) see your doctor as described above.
Like see them today or tomorrow....1 -
I really think you should seek some professional help on what would be best for you from a diet standpoint and maybe some counciling or therapy regarding the anxiety. In general, losing more than 1.5 to 2 lbs per week is not advised unless under the care of a licensed medical professional (i.e. An MD).0
