I went to Vegas once many, many years ago when I was working at the Flamingo Reno and could say free at the Flamingo Vegas. Awesome dinner at Charlie Palmer's Aureole and some pretty fantastic poolside relaxation. Bellagio was nice. No major shenanigans to report. Hope you honor your mom nicely!1

Thanks Peppermintpudgy, I will behave...2

My mom used to take my brother and I to Vegas all the time when we were younger. It was just us 3 in a rental home enjoying the pool and eating junk. It was her escape and I loved seeing her happy. I went last year for about 4 days. It had been about 17 yrs since i was there. My cousins crashed my vacation and it was the best vacation ever!! Totally different memories as a child to as an adult.2

Thanks sw33tp3a1. You need to go, so much has changed in Vegas from the structure of the casinos to just enjoying the lime life of people all day and all night.
Hopefully, you get the chance to experience it with your kids.0 -
I went there with some buddies 4 a bachelor's party ...It was Amazing ...But I drank 2 much & woke up naked in a room with 4 stunning women ...I was horrified 2 say the least ....Cuz I know I was taken advantage of ....None of them cared about me or my interests. ..They seen a drunk guy & said "Oh let's have fun with that!" I'll never go back0

I live here. It's ok. Summer death heat sucks though.1

Drank a little too much. On my way back to the room met a woman. She wanted to go back to her hotel.... Standing in the taxi line for whatever reason, I thought she was a prostitute. I caused a scene and ran away looking for my friends. Next think I know I am in the bowels of Planet Hollywood trying to find my way out. More to the story but.. yeah.... I love Vegas hahaha1

Vegas?
I'm way too square and nerdy to fit in there.
I've been there more times than I can count, almost always on business.
I just find a hotel off of the strip and close to a gym.2 -
It's okay Motorsheen, at least you go just not for what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas situations1

The thing is, I've been in the casinos and the clubs but only in passing and I think: Dang, they're having fun!
I'm just wound too tight to even attempt that kind of fun and on some level, I envy them for their ability to let loose.
Give me a bookstore or a movie theater , let me run a road race or plant me in a gym for a few hours and I'm good.3 -
Kwph...Im sorry this had happen to you. Wishing you the best and hoping you would change your mind about Vegas. Always be mindful and stay with friends...someone always have to be the sober one in order to enjoy Vegas while drinking.

Motorsheen, I understand. Vegas has so much life to its city besides the casinos and limelight.
Just going to the Malls, All the Shows they have, the Grand Canyon tour and etc.

I actually just got back from Vegas for my birthday. The very first thing we saw was a woman pulling dirty diapers out of her pants at a bus stop. Other than that, it was like Disneyland with cigarettes and booze. Meh.
<<I did get a pic with the Golden Goose sign like I wanted- minus all the strip club adverts below it.1 -
If this thread is still around in 17 months, I'll tell you my story. Gotta wait for the Statute of Limitations to expire.1

I hadn't had even one drop of alcohol yet, but went to step out of the booth and fell flat on the floor. Super embarrassing and everyone looking at me like, cut her off, eye rolls. I didn't go back for almost 15 years.
Thesunmoonandstars...Well I will be in Vegas this Sunday, March 5. I hope I do not experience this while I have my Talk Margaritas too.

I'm going in October for my birthday.
Last time I was there I wound up shooting a cops gun in the car park behind a bar because his brother had messed up my drinks order in Boston 3 years previously.
Absolutely true story.1 -

Went to Vegas a year ago. My family and I had a great time and we really enjoyed an off-the-strip casino called Ellis Island Casino and Microbrewery - bad Elvis impersonator and all. $17 HUGE prime rib dinner that was awesome.
HOWEVER - One thing that really surprised me about Vegas, and ultimately irritated me is, you have to pay to sit down. Seriously.- There are no benches to sit on on the sidewalks
- The fountains have various sorts of spikes in their edges to prevent sitting
- low fences are topped with spikes
- As soon as you finish a beverage or food you are getting pushed back into the casino, even if the restaurant is nearly empty...you have to buy another overpriced drink for EVERYONE in order to stay
- Obviously can can sit when you gamble...but that usually costs
