Hi All
I've been using my Nike + to log my runs whilst doing the C25K and I'm really confused about this. I seem to get totally random amounts of fuel points so I have no idea what they are being given for. As an example I'll give you my 3 runs for last week (they are usually longer than the programme just because I walk a bit further on my cool down!)
Run 1 - Time 41:01 Pace - 15:22/ Mile and Nike Fuel - 648
Run 2 - Time 45:34 Pace - 14:58/Mile and Nike Fuel - 3 (see what I mean makes no sense run faster and longer and get less!)
Run 3 - Time 1:01:50 Pace - 15:42/Mile and Nike Fuel - 6
I'm really confused about why I got so much for run 1 and so little by comparison for the other 2.
Thanks.

I have worn a Nike Fuelband for two months and I have come to the conclusion that it is just a fancy pedometer with a lot of marketing hype. I have seen the same inconsistencies that you have and I feel like I have been duped!
However, It did get me to be much more active and because of the research I did, I finally bought a good Heart Rate Monitor and started really learning what cardiovascular exercises increase my heart rate.
so... something good did come out of it. ... sort -of !0 -
I don't have the fuel band just the app on my phone. My husband seems to get pretty accurate results or at least consistent results whereas mine are all over the place.0

What gadget are you using for Nike+?
My gps sucks, so I use the shoe sensor along with the iPhone app. If I don't have a good signal, the shoe sensor tracks my run, and it's accurate +-10%. Never looked at the fuel, but I assume it ought to be linear. (Edit: just checked and it is )0 -
I have the i-phone app on its own. I have put my height, weight etc in and the calories it calculates seems to be about right. It's just the fuel points that seem utterly random. They obviously don't really matter but I have friends who are doing the C25K as well and they seem quite consistent whereas mine are all over the place.0

Hi. Don't know anything about Nike Fuel points and I'm curious, so a couple questions.
What is the point of fuel points?
Do they help you earn free stuff or something?
What, if any, bearing do they have on your fitness efforts?0 -
Hi Fitfully-Me, Good questions. I have no idea. I thought they were meant to be a consistent way you could measure your activity level amongst your friends so that even if you ran for example and your friend played football you'd know who was being more active but as I get totally different amounts for each run I'd guess it is very unreliable.0

I have a Fitbit One, they're pretty accurate when it comes to counting steps. It updates automatically to your laptop or smartphone. Based on your height, weight and age, the Fitbit will calculate how many calories you have burnt, etc. It's areally groovy little piece of technology, well worth a buy!0
