Happy Scale

I recently discovered the Happy Scale App, and I love it! I'm not sure how to best use it in conjunction with MFP - I generally just log my weight on MFP once every week or so. Strategies? Do I weigh and track daily with Happy Scale and then just enter my rolling average one day a week on MFP? What do other users do?

The more weigh ins you log in Happy Scale, the more accurate the trend line will be. I weigh daily for Happy Scale but only log weekly in MFP. And for MFP I enter the actual weigh in and not the rolling average.1

i weigh daily on happy scale. i used to have it linked to my profile here, but people were congratulating me all the time on my normal day to day fluctuations and i felt guilty accepting false accolades (but they were so nice!) so now i only log my weight into mfp when i hit a new low weight.4

Agreed with the more weigh ins you log the more accurate it'll be. I don't log my weigh ins after an indulgent weekend anymore because my water weight is way up and I know it's gone after 4-7 days. However, I USED to always log my weight after crazy eating days and now that I have that data to look back on, I know how long it takes for the indulgent lbs to go away. If you're new to the app i recommend logging as many of those days as possible even when it's hard to look at! It's really good to go back and look at past weigh ins and learn from them. You start seeing a routine/trend with what you eat compared to your weigh ins.1 -
I love happy scale! I do as above and log daily but don't link it to MFP. Only log here once a week. But that app is really great.2

Happy Scale keeps me happy...seeing the daily fluctuations and the trend line keep me from fussing over water weight gains.1

I use Happy scale everyday and once a week weigh and put in MFP, itsgood as you see the increments building g up to the lbs.1

I put my daily weight into both happy scale and MFP, but I only really look at the trend line in happy scale.1

Me too (I use Libra and weigh daily). I don't log all the daily fluctuations in mfp because it spams my feed and confuses/annoys people. I only log weight on mfp if it's worth telling people about.1 -
I log daily on happy scale and log my Sunday weight on mfp.1

I'm lazy, so I bought a wifi scale. I don't need to enter my weight at all and it shows up in the scale app, MFP, Garmin Connect and Trendweight.
It also means I can't lie about my weight to MFP, Gramin Connect or trendweight, so that's a minus2 -
What everyone else said. I Weigh in everyday on happy scales and once a week on mfp my actual weigh in that day x2

I weight daily and use Libra (manually) and www.trendweight.com (automatically) I still link my weigh ins to MFP but I turned off my auto notifications as the daily fluctuations were a bit much for MFP1 -
I'm with others who just log the new lows. everything else is just noisy (but useful and satisfying) data.2

Thanks everyone for the input! I'm excited to utilize this new data.1

never heard of Happy Scale but just got it today--- Everyone on here seems jazzed about it so I'm in!

For those who like to weigh daily, Happy Scale is a good place for that as it cuts out the fluctuations on the trend line. I don't obsess over the scale and I weigh every day, Happy Scale works to give me good trend numbers and I can see when my rate slows or quickens.2

This, I only log losses in MFP and every day on Happy Scale. Great app.1 -

Agree, I have decided that as long as my trend stays in the green I am happy overall.... this really helps me as I do tend to "fall of the wagon" when I have a bad day vs this smoothes it out.
I also have it set up with 10 mini goals in Happy Scale, when I hit each of the mini goals I reward myself with a non-food reward (I bought a pair of shoes I had eye on, got a massage, etc). Helps with the motivation!
