I will be going to the gym primarily at night after work (10p or so) I want to have a small snack after. It has to be light enough that I can feel comfortable sleeping soon after eating. What do you suggest?

"Light" is relative. I could eat a PB&J at 500+ calories with a glass of full fat milk for a total of roughly 700 calories and feel comfortable sleeping afterwards.

How many calories are you talking about? Maybe some greek yogurt to fill you up if you can handle dairy okay and it won't make you poop like it does some people.

Or just a shake. Protein powder or Slimfast equivalent, something like that. That'd be around 180-250 calories depending on what you added.

I like a small pb sandwich and a cup of milk before bed.

Carrots and hummus, sunflower and pumpkin seeds on a rice cake spread with PB, Greek yogurt, protein shake... possibilities are endless
