My back & arthritis pain virtually disappeared through overall strength training and improved fitness, under the guidance of a personal trainer. I did a wide variety exercises and various equipment (TRX, dumbbells, med balls, stability ball, bands, BOSU, etc.) and I did not do special exercises for my back or certain vertebrae. Everything involved the core. I would encourage you to get specific exercises from a physical therapist.0

No special an routines (though I do ab P90X -Ripper X as add on to weight lifting 3 times/wk). Yoga 2 times a week has really helped my lower back strength and eliminated the chronic back pain I've had in the past.0
