Same old food

I am getting bored with my same old healthy weight loss foods.. What are some of your favorite low calorie, filling, yet delicious recipes? Also, what are some good smoothie recipes? Thanks so much!

I don't really eat different other than less. Though I am currently low sodium.

Favorite weeknight dinners include hatch chile stew, red beans & andouille chicken, chicken mole served on acorn squash (or tostada if no squash on hand), "hot mess" (pulled pork in a baked sweet potato), chicken apple salad w balsamic vinaigrette on spinach, chicken "meat" balls in marinara over spinach or spaghetti squash or pasta, edamame & asparagus pilaf, any leftover meat extended with fried egg and vegetables in a "fried rice" dish. Similarly a leftover meat with sautéed vegetables with quinoa or another grain. I get by with small grain portions by adding tons of spinach. We also do tacos loooots of different ways, and if I need to go low cal I use a cabbage leaf instead of tortilla, and I really like the crunch and taste of that. Easiest meal ever has to be broiled salmon on spinach.

Whew. That's what we're eating this week, anyway. We smoke a whole chicken every weekend, use it for several meals, and make stock with the carcass. Most of these meals are low calorie because they're pretty low fat. I need higher fat snacks to hit my macros. For lunches, I do lots of soups to use that delicious stock.

Message me if you're interested in recipes on any of those. Hope your creative juices get flowing!

When I joined MFP, I made the decision that I was going to eat only foods I liked. :) So I went to the grocery stores and markets and wandered the aisles looking at all the food on offer and I found lots of interesting food. In fact, my diet went from the same ol' thing to a much wider variety.

Also, when I exercise lots I can eat more. So on weekends when I cycle long distances or go for a big hike, I can go out for Indian food or for fish and chips or for pizza or whatever I want.

We cook a lot from scratch so have healthy low cal organic versions of burgers, pizza, chili, Indian curries, etc. It is easy to get in a rut and eat same menu over and over. Monday we had bangers and mash with peas, Tuesday was pancakes, strawberries, and scrambled eggs, today is spagetti, meatballs, green salad, tomorrow will be tikka masala (scratch recipe low cal) and rice with a side of veg, Friday will be homemade veggie soup. Other meals we do are grilled chicken wraps in flat bread with taziki ( handmade bread and taziki)..great because we add lettuce, diced onions and diced tomatos to the wraps. We also make mini frittatas in muffin pans...spinach and feta, ham, cheese and onion, tomato and basil and eat them with salad. Baked fish fillets with pea and asparagus risotto and a side of steamed carrots. Steak, couscous and green beans. Lemon chicken (baked) with steamed carrots, broccoli and rice. I'm interested in others meals...always looking for more variety.
