Just wanted to give a heads up that two new courses have just started on Coursera, and it is not too late to sign up.
Nutrition and Physical Activity. https://www.coursera.org/course/nutritionforhealth
Exercise Physiology. https://www.coursera.org/course/exphys
Coursera. www.coursera.org
EdX. www.edx.org
Coursera and EdX offer free online courses in a wide range of subjects. They are new endeavors by major universities with the purpose of opening education to everyone around the world. While you don't earn a college degree, you can earn a certificate of completion or you can just audit the course. The courses mainly involve watching videos, reading linked articles, completing assignments, taking quizzes, and doing peer reviews. So far this summer, Coursera has offered two really good nutrition courses: Basic Nutrition by Vanderbilt Univ.and Nutrition and Diseases from The Univ. of California. Many of the students in these courses used MyFitnessPal to do course assignments. These courses will be repeated later this year and in 2014.
Like MyFitnessPal, these courses can be tremendous tools for those trying to get healthier.
And just to reiterate, the courses are free.
