What to eat before practice for an athlete

My lacrosse season starts this Friday and I really want to focus this year on properly fueling my body because I've learned in the past that the meal before a practice or game can make or break my performance. I'm trying to get idea of which macros to focus on, specifically for breakfasts that I can make before Saturday early morning practice.
I would love to find a go to green meal replacement smoothie that I could make before practice. I found a good one but it calls for a whole avocado and I'm not sure if fats are a good idea before practice. Should I focus on protein most?
Any smoothie recipes that are good for an athlete? Also, I'm vegan

That's going to be something you have to play with as well as how far in advance you eat. What works well for me might make you feel sick.

If it's early I find yogurt will do it, as I never feel like really eating early. If it's between good times to eat a PB&J goes a long way.

You really need to use trial and error for this.

The most I can manage before a run is a caffeine drink and a banana, mean while my husband can have over night oats or anything he fancies.

We are no athletes though, just a middle aged couple trying to stay healthy.
