OK so here's the run down. I wanted to start 21 day fix workouts on Sunday. (I've done some of T25 last year and did a few weeks of PIYO in December). Problem is that I got the stomach flu. Bad. Fast forward to Tuesday this week and I'm feeling better. Still haven't eaten but foolishly decide I'm gonna start my workout and just eat after. I got like 15 minutes into the first video and had to stop. It was too much after not eating for 2 days. Anyhow, because I just stopped I didn't do a cool down/stretch. Now it's Wednesday night for me and I'm so sore I can't get on and off the couch! Like it's ridiculous! Im by no means super active, buy I've exercised before and (other than being so weak from being sick ) didn't think the exercises were THAT crazy hard!?! Is there many way that being sick made my muscle soreness worse? Or is it just that I didn't stretch /cool down? Or am I seriously THAT out of shape that 15 min exercise is going to mean I can't walk for two days?!?

It's usually the second day when the soreness hits me. A good cardio workout can help take away the soreness and surprisingly, doing the same workout again can help too.
You challenged muscles that simply aren't used to moving that way. Maybe more stretching might've helped but you might've been sore anyway.
Maybe try some yoga tomorrow to loosen up a bit and relieve the soreness

You did a new exercise program. That's the reason :)

Soreness and complete inability to move are not the same thing.

If you have noticeable swelling of the affected muscles or dark 'rusty' coloured urine/decreased urine output you should see a doc.

ETA: 'potentially' a stomach flu type illness could temporarily decrease your kidney function which can hypothetically make it hard to rid the body of enzymes released from muscle during injury/overuse.

I second doing the cardio. When I'm REALLY sore and it's doms I usually work out anyway. cardio helps for some reason. Maybe loosens the muscles back up. Make sure to eat. You're lucky you didn't make yourself sicker.
