2-week plateau

Hi all,

I started here Jan 3. After a slow beginning, I gradually took off 8 lbs, which is great. The problem is, I've been at the same weight now for almost 2 weeks, and I still have about 28 lbs to go before I reach my goal weight. I'm quite happy to lose 1 lb a week, but being stalled is a bit discouraging. Who else has experienced this kind of thing? Any encouragement would be welcome!

Two weeks is not a plateau, just a stall. It could be a number of things: increased sodium intake, hormones, new/increased exercise (all will cause water retention), or inaccurate logging.

Everyone has experienced this. It is annoying/frustrated, but its the result of water weight most likely.

Water weight is temporary and can spike up due to sodium, stress, muscle fatigue/soreness/repair, hormones/TOM.

If you're eating at a deficit (you don't say, but I'll assume you are since you've only stalled for 2 weeks) then trust that patience will pay off.

If you stall for 4-6 weeks, that might be area for concern. In general, the advice would then be to improve logging accuracy.
