HUGE NSV for me today!

I have been working through the Run a 3k program the last 5 weeks. In the beginning I was unable to jog every 30 second interval and today............ I ran the ENTIRE 15 minutes!!!!!! I haven't increased my overall time at all, which averages 12:19-12:40 minute mile, but just to gain that endurance has been an AMAZING feeling!!! I plan to keep doing the final day of the program to slowly increase my time and distance now!!! I want to add, before starting the Run a 3k program, I had not exercised regularly in almost 2 years. I have GAINED a few pounds, but I see my legs and butt firming up, so I know I'm losing inches at least in my legs.

Well done you!!! I completed the C25K about 6 weeks ago and ran my first 5k in a Race for Life at Hyde Park in sweltering conditions last weekend. I did it in 42 mins and was so proud of myself as I am not, nor never will be a runner, more of a trotter. I would never have thought that I would go out for a trot 3 x per week of my own volition... feel so much better.

Some runs are good, some are not so good.. for no rhymn nor reason but keep grinding away at it.

    Well done you

Way to go! I did the couch25K program awhile back and loved it. I hope you enjoy it and stick with it!!!
  • That's awesome and only the beginning. I was where you are and now regularly run 5k on a daily basis with an occasional 10k. You will be amazed at what you and your body can do! Congratulations!

Congrats!!!!! Keep at it.....even if you need to repeat a day or week....you can do this! I started it in April and kept with it and my first race is coming up here in a couple weeks and it feels great to know I can do it; but couldn't have even considered running without the C25K program!

Great job! There's nothing like the feeling after a good run. Don't even give your times a thought. Someone once told me "It doesn't matter if it's a 7 minute mile or a 12 minute mile, it's still a mile, and you're still lapping everybody on the couch!"
