How do I know if the step counting is only counting when I walk/Run and not when I'm driving?

Look at your step counter before you get in the car. Look at it again when you get out of the car. If there's steps it counted when you were driving - if there's not it didn't.0

If you got an iPhone you have a monitor in your phone that turns off the pedometer if you go over a certain speed.
Anecdotal, but I've noticed if you put the phone in a leg pocket (like in cargo shorts) it will count steps if you're on a treadmill. So putting it in the cup holder might work too.0
