Does the number on scale drop after a rest day?

It happened with me last 2 weeks. Weight was consistent over gym days (I weigh everyday) and then after the rest day, it went down a little bit.
Anyone else experienced this?

Exertion of the muscles causes a little water retention as I understand, so that could account for it.1

Probably water weight. Do you also eat less on rest days? My weight always drops by acouple pounds after a rest0

Yes. I believe it's water retention, as your body needs more water to repair muscle tissue after a workout.0

I always weigh myself after my rest day because that's the day I weigh the least.0
