Does anyone have someone who inspires them to loose weight and feel better about themselves? Trying to find some inspiration to get me motivated to loose weight.

stand in front of the mirror in your underwear... happy, no? there's your motivation!10

Yeah, me, myself and I. Looking for external motivators is tough, comparison is the thief of joy.
It can be inspiring to check into the Success board now and again to see people who have made incredible changes and remind you why it's all worth it.5 -
I agree that the motivation must come from within yourself. Once you tell yourself you are doing it, only you can keep yourself committed. That said, I do find added motivation by reading these threads, especially the photo success stories.2

You need to determine what inspires you to lose weight. For me it's my health. For others it's their wedding, or to look good in a bikini, or just to feel better about themselves.1

I wanted to be able to cycle the long distances I used to cycle.
And fit in a certain cycling jacket again.
I can do both now.3 -

My motivation was what I saw when I stepped on the scale. That and fact that I was getting out of breath just walking up stairs.2

Just have your doctor tell you that at this rate you'll have a heart attack at age 35. Bam! Motivation:)0

I didn't like how I felt. It was hard to do what I wanted to do.
I deserve to be healthy and have a good quality of life.1 -
I saw a photo of myself, yikes! Photos don't lie!3

I was tired of being the fat guy , out of shape , unable to do things I used to do , having no energy , tired all the time , started to Dred just going out to do errands . and then after some chest discomfort and a hospital visit , I decided , I am going to drop the lard!0

Negative motivators don't work for me. It has to be something future and positive that means something to be at all effective. One other thought, motivation is overrated. Just make the decision and do it. Consistency will get you much further than motivation ever will.

For me, the day I stepped on a scale and it said 328 pounds, I wanted to cry. I knew I was way overweight but that was a heavy dose of reality slapping me in the face. I was miserable and made some changes and stopped gaining weight, even lost a few pounds but the idea of trying to lose all that weight felt overwhelming. When I found out that I had a grandchild on the way, that was just the extra incentive I needed to finally commit to getting healthy. Once I started seeing and, more importantly, feeling the results, I found all sorts of motivation. I am now down to 197 pounds, I feel great, and my abs are even starting to show now. I feel like I have control of my life back. I don't feel ashamed anymore. I feel like I am the man my beautiful wife deserves to have on her arm. I have lots of energy. I am not longer terrified of taking my shirt off. I even inspired others around me to take responsibility for their health as well. I should have done this a long time ago.1
