Carb Cycling

Has anyone ever heard of carb cycling? If so, who has actually done it or is currently doing it?
What made you decide this was the right path for you? How did you get started? Where did you go for information, etc?

I have done it ....I followed Chris Powell's carb cycling books ....I quit because I couldn't handle the heavy carb days...my tummy was very upset...I am doing Keto (very low carbs) and I love it ...I have lost 96lbs in a little over 2 years ...wishing you the best1

I do it - I have 3 levels of carbs that I use and on my low carb day, I take in a bit more fat - I'm down 10lbs since I started doing it in November; focusing mostly on performance/recomp0

I've only heard of carb cycling when people were on prep.0

Carb cycling is just a tool to use to create a calorie deficit (or surplus). Nutrient timing, macronutrient splits and food choices make little to no difference to weight loss.3

I used Chris Powell's method and it worked well but after 16 weeks I was over it. I still sort of cycle by eating less carbs on days I don't do cardio exercises.0

I eat higher carbs on training days and lower on rest days, and sometimes an even higher carb day at maintenence.
As trigden said, I basically use it as a tool to help create a deficit. I do less on rest days, so I eat less. It's mostly personal preference. The result would be the same if I ate equal weekly calories but kept my daily intakes the same every day.
Eat what you want within your calorie goal and be consistent and you will lose weight. You don't need carb cycling/keto/etc. Just a calorie deficit.0
