What's the problem?0

178 for that height isn't that far off of being a healthy weight. Make some small changes to diet and add a bit of exercise.0

I can't believe this, I typed it out but for some reason it hasn't posted!!!
Doh!!
Try again....40 this year. 5'8". Scales show me at 178lbs. Had baby 22 weeks ago. Started workingvout 7 weeks ago doing mostly Joe Wicks various HIIT youtube excercises 6 days a week for 20 minutes. Do weights to tone arms every other day. Always do between 10000 and 14000 steps a day. Log every morsel of food im Mfp and stick to recomended calorie intake and should be losing 1lb a week at least but I haven't lost a single pound!! Must be doing somethimg right though as was wearing size 16 jeans 7 weeks ago but now in size 14. Was 12 pre pregnancy. I feel fitter and don't wobble as much so why doen't the scales reflect this?? Any insights??
Hope I've managed to post it this time!0 -
You didn't say anything about weighing every morsel of food. Do you weigh your food? If you are breast feeding you might want to consider giving your body a break and just maintaining weight for a few more months.3

Not breast feeding anymore and I weigh my food. It's baffling me how I'm stuck on 178lbs and working so hard. Very demoralising.0

What's your calorie intake like? Can you make your food diary public? If we can see your food logs we may have suggestions.

So you haven't dropped or gained anything? If you use a digital scale, are the batteries ok? Sometimes, I need to check the accuracy of my scale since the batteries seem to drain more than I thought possible! Once a month or so I weigh myself and then weigh myself again with a 8lb handweight to see if it's properly calibrated
Also, I'm not sure if you knew this, but since the entries in the journal are user-entered, you have to be extra sure that what you're logging is actually what you're eating. There are definitely bad entries in there, and lots of "homemade" things. Verify that you're especially entering meats properly (cooked vs raw) and adding all condiments, oils etc. Double check items from MFP's database (especially calorie dense ones!) against the label or against the USDA calorie values. I was personally super resistant to what I thought was INSANE logging accuracy, thinking that I had such a big deficit that I might as well just wing it. But I find that I only lose when I keep a super tight down-to-the-nearest-gram log. I still have to have the buffer for when I "accidentally" lick the beater of the brownies I made last weekend...
Otherwise, just keep doing what you're doing. It's awesome that you're fitting into smaller sizes, and really, if you're feeling better, that's all that really matters. If you are absolutely sure of your intake AND your output, and are positive you are in a proper deficit, you will lose eventually. Our bodies can be extra weird after pregnancy.
Oh, and just in case...is there any chance you might be pregnant again? Probably not since you seem to be losing inches. I only ask because I have a friend who got pregnant around 4mos post-partum (about a month after she stopped breastfeeding) and didn't realize it until around 14weeks into the new pregnancy when she started gaining weight! She didn't think it was possible that soon, but Irish Twins are out there!0 -
it might be worth getting your thyroid checked by a doctor. I only say this because after my mum gave birth to me she was diagnosed with underactive thyroid, and one of the symptoms is struggling to lose weight. Slim chance it is this but might be worth checking.1

You had a baby a few short months ago
Hormones take a while to drop
Plus if you aren't losing weight lower your calories change your exercises
If your honestly weighing and measuring everything logging absolutely everything you eat and drink even picked at foods sauces sugars etc then I'd see a doctor0
