Struggling to maintain momentum

I made a decision a bit over 12 months ago that I needed to do sometime about my weight and have managed in the past 12 months to lose 44kg. Which is good, but I find myself struggling more and more to lose the last 10 kg to reach my goal weight. I understand that the initial weight lose is the easier part but it does get a bit hard seeing the same figures on the scale each day and not moving. I'm wondering how others have copped with this and some tips to help get back in the right mindset.

I know it can be hard to ignore the weight, but try to find some other things to focus on, if possible, rather than just the scale.

Take your measurements regularly, and compare them month to month. Take note of how your clothes fit and whether anything is getting loose. Find some fitness goals to work on, even if it's just walking a bit further or a bit faster each week. (Maybe you do other kinds of exercise, sports, or lift weights - anything that you do, you can try to improve on! :) )

I have a similar amount of weight left to lose. I dropped my MFP goal to 0.5lbs per week to give me more calories to eat, but I'm still having the same kind of results I was getting before - I'll stick around the same sort of weight (within a pound or so) for anything from 2-6 weeks, then I lose a couple of pounds or so, then the cycle repeats. I'm getting there slowly, I just have to try and be patient!

You have done fantastically well to lose 44kg in a year, so definitely be proud of yourself for that! :) Try to remember how far you've come, and not just look at what's left to do. From everything I've read here about others' experiences it does seem as though those last few pounds can be the hardest to lose, and you might have to make sure you're really accurate with your weighing and logging of food since you don't have much room for error as you get closer to your goal. But keep at it, and you will get there eventually!
