Hello so I have been changing my diet for the past 2 almost 3 years and lost 176 pounds I have had a problem for a year trying to gain iron. I was getting better for my previous test results getting close to normal but now I dropped back down to 15 points below normal opposed to 4. My question is has anyone else had this problem? I know some people have a difficulty time digesting iron and I usually eat vitamin C with my high iron food and I eat over 100% of iron usually around 150% iron so I am baffled as to why it's even lower then before

I would pursue the reason behind your iron deficiency with your doctor and/or a registered dietician. It's more unusual for a man to have this problem - I've had low iron/ferritin in the past, but it was pretty easy to see why (blood donations + female) and corrected fairly quickly with supplementation. With your levels not responding as expected, you're in a place where you need specific to you advice, not general "works for most people" advice.

Thank you and yes it's unusual for men and much more common among females

Good luck! I know my energy was really low when my iron was low, and I was easily winded. I hope you can find a solution, as it can have a big impact on your day to day life.
