Today I had an awesome workout at the gym. I started off with my 45 minutes workout on the gut-buster core machines. My back has been sore over the past two weeks due to a doctor mishandling my colonoscopy! When I first started the resistance, I thought my back would stop me but after a few it kinda cracked and was easy going from there. I burned 212 calories on 105 sets of 10 reps each (3 different machines)! Then I got on the elliptical trainer for 45 minutes. and burned 465 calories getting my heart over 155 at times and averaging over 132BPM, a good burn for sure! To those who believe that an average cardio workout of 30 minutes burns 400 calories, no way! You would have to average about 175BPM! Maybe if you are 20 years old, but realistically the average is about 250-325 calories for a 30 minute run/walk/elliptical. I have been doing this for over 30 years. I can also assure you that the numbers on the machines for BPM are quite overstated. I use my apple watch which is fairly accurate and only a handful of times have I burned more calories on that than what the elliptical/treadmill shows me. Anyway happy Friday everyone!!

I've got big plans for the next three days, but a lot of it is yard work. I will run for my cardio but I'm about to go rent a big old chainsaw to take care of some trees we lost in recent high wind. Functionally active weekend for me, hopefully!

This is my plan for tomorrow:

Fantastic cardio workout. Competitive Nordic skiers are the fittest people on Earth.
