Heart Rate Monitor

Hello,

I’m thinking about buying a Heart Rate Monitor. I have already purchased a pedometer months back. I wore my pedometer often, however it would always fall off. My question to you MFP Fam – WHAT is the best Heart Rate Monitor that YOU use? I heard about Fitbit. Do you think it’s worth the $100?

All a Fitbit does is track your distance and movement, like a pedometer. I have the Fitbit Zip and it tracks steps, miles and calorie loss (for the whole day). It's just a glorified pedometer. I do recommend it though if you do a lot of running and walking for exercise. If you usually go to the gym, on the machines, or do a lot of strength training, it won't take into account that calorie burn.

I just recently bought a Pulse Heart Rate Monitor Calories Counter Fitness Watch. You can get one on Ebay for between $10. and $20., it does a reasonable job and works as a pedometer as well as HRM and Calorie counter. Oh, and you don't need the chest strap, you just put your finger on the sensor.

This is what i have and i think it's great! It's not too expensive and even though it does have a chest strap, i can't really feel it so it doesnt bother me =)
