Headed to a chain restaurant here. I checked the nutrition guide and prelogged entries. It states that sides are obviously not included in nutrition but I'm confused if the bun and onions and mushrooms are. It's a steak sandwich on an open face ciabatta with mushrooms, red peppers and onions. Says it is 473 calories. Do i keep the 473 calories and add calories for the bun?

It's 140 calories to add the steak to a salad but 450 for a 7 oz steak as an entree.

If the bun is extra or on the side, add it as extra or on the side. But if the bun comes on the entre' plate, count it as the 473.

473 sounds reasonable for the description you give, reasonable for the bun, the meat, the grilled veg.

A dish like stir fry lists the calories for the stir fry and then a separate entry for the rice so I would assume that if the bun wasn't included it would state. A roasted veggie and goat cheese wrap is listed as 670 calories so clearly the tortilla is included.

The whole meal with a starter salad and seasonal veggies as a side will be under 700 calories plus my 500 breakfast and lunch total only puts me at 1200 of a 1500 so I should still be ok. Thanks.

I don't think bread would be something "extra" on a sandwich.
