I'm not looking to stop eating sugar or anything, but I do need to cut back ok it a bit. I don't drink regular soda and stuff, I drink lots of water but no matter what I do my weight has stayed the same (even following CICO) nothing works. I knew I needed to reduce sugar anyway, what are your tips? Thanks!

Sugar wouldn't be the culprit, excess calories would be. Are you logging everything as accurately as possible (i.e. using a food scale)?

I only buy a sugary treat when I want one and I buy single servings.

I reduced my sugar intake so now it's totally minimal. Removed all my failings - these are things that I couldn't just have one of! Biscuits, cakes, ice cream, chocolate, beer, cider, wine, fruit juice. There's been more over the years as I've refined my eating to the point that I also have very little artificial sugar either.
This weekend my daughter-in-law had a block of Whittackers dark chocolate with raspberries - the pic looked divine - I tried a small piece and spat it out! It was off the chart in terms of being sweet and I didn't enjoy it one bit. In NZ there's a big following of the 'I quite sugar' program - http://www.sarahwilson.com/tag/i-quit-sugar-2/
    Might be worth a look.

    This

I have a pretty fulfilling diet and I am consistently under the daily recommendation for sugar. My meals are based around protein and veg. Very little starchy carbs. No fruit for me (but I'm extreme there). I add sugar to a cup of coffee and have a low sugar dessert. Diet sodas...I find it easy.

I reduced baked goods and replaced them with fruit, which have much less calories. I don't feel the least bit sweet deprived.

I am with the poster above that sugar is likely not the issue if weight loss has stalled. It is far more likely that it is something else. My suggestion if you want to cut back is look at your diary for those entries that have sugar and cut back on them replacing something else that either doesn't have sugar or which has less sugar. That is the advantage of having a log of what you eat.

Yes, absolutely. There are various ways to reduce sugar further if that's what you want to do, but this will only work for weight loss of it causes you to get your overall calories down. We can give you more targeted advice if you open your diary.
