Depends what you're doing.
The polar thing seems high. Let's even assume a 1000cal difference. Depends on how much you weigh as well as height. Let's say you were 140lb 5 8. You would have to run a 14 min pace mile for almost 2 1/2 hours a day to get close to 1000 calories. That's no breaks or slowing down.
