I am 28, 4 kids, and I have a terminal disease Pulmonary arterial hypertension which is not curable I will just get worse so I am very limited on exercise. Before I was diagnosed I was very active weighing 140 pounds. After I had my last baby I was working out but instead of losing weight I was gaining and got to the point where I would pass out and I was weighing 237 pounds highest ever. The doctor couldn't find anything wrong with me til I got really sick and went to the ER 2.5 years ago when I was diagnosed. I am down to 187 now but I need to be at 150 or less. So the dr has limited me to walking. I have a 10 pound weight limit and no cardio due to my heart and Lung issue. I do have two 5 lb dumbbell. I also eat when my depression kicks in hard core I know it's unhealthy and I am wanting to change that change my overall health. I just would like some advice for exercise, meals, and snacks. Thanks

First of all, I'm very sorry about your diagnosis. That must be devastating. No doubt you want to do everything in your power to be around and healthy for your kids as long as possible. Your doctor is best equipped to advise you, but I will say it is absolutely possible to lose weight through diet and walking alone, or even diet alone. Please talk to your doctor about your depression. There are many options for treatment. Best of luck to you

I definitely agree with poster above! Check out Leslie Sansones walking based at home workouts for days when getting outside may not be possible.

Check out the recipe boards, people share all sorts of great ideas based off ingredients, calories needed per meal, or diet type. Dont think you have to saygoodbye to all your favorite meals, oftentimes you just have to be smart about portions and maybe beef thing up with veggies to enjoy the things you love.

    ~Best wishes on your journey

I am so sorry for your dx. I am glad you have an answer though to what is wrong.
I have MS and had depression hit me hard when I was first diagnosed. There are many different medications out there and getting a good doctor and therapist is important.
Is there any chance you can swim or do water aerobics? Then you don't have to deal with gravity at all.
I know that the National MS Society has some water aerobics classes all across the country and I am sure you could go to one of those if you are near a city has one, even if you don't have MS. Or check with a YMCA or local workout center to see if they have a class. This has helped many people I know who can't do any exercise because of their joints or because they can't even walk.
I also know that meditation works really well for some friends of mine to help them with stress and eating. Meditation is my next challenge...
    Good luck.
