I ask only cos I'm prefer to snack then sit there and have a meal, so is it viable snacking to hit the target or meal plans is the only way?

You can eat once a day or 20 times per day, sitting, standing, walking or lying down, and call it meals or snacks or bites - it's the total amount of calories that count.

"sit there and have a meal"....that describes anything you eat. It doesn't have to be a formal meal, at ALL. And as small or large as you like, as long as it fits into your daily calorie budget.

I have snack days. Makes no difference if I'm within my calories.

Look at my diary for yesterday. Lunch was snacking on junk. Using this site for a year taught me to weigh all the junk and record it in my food diary. It's neither good nor bad. It's just calories. Stop when you have enough.
