Thoughts on meal replacements...

Hi All, I am wanting to get some input on meal replacements? I feel that I eat a pretty balanced diet...a lot of veggies and protein and the carbs I eat are from fruits and whole grains. I have started to read some stuff on meal replacements (mainly b/c I am seeing people posting about the powders they are using) and wondered to the benefit of them and if I should be replacing one of my meals with one of the many options I see out there (shakeology is the one I am seeing a ton of people talk about). Thoughts? Opinions? Suggestions?
Thanks!
Thanks!

My response is how much do you like to eat? I love to sit down at a meal, each and every meal, and slow down, enjoy. Part of my problem is this love, but w/portion control and better choices I can change my body. I use my vitamix if I am unable to sit and enjoy (rare as I am a planner) or was given a bumper crop of something. Otherwise, and here I am sure I'm in the minority of MFP, the act of eating w/fork, spoon, knife, or fingers, is a pleasure.0

Unnecessary, usually overpriced, and I'd rather eat real food anyway.0 -
Personally, they are either over prices, full of crap or lack the good nutrients.
Nothing beats whole food IMO!0 -
Just say no. You can get all the nutrients you need with real food. There isn't anything magic.0

I concur with other posters here.
Try real food.
You will save a ton of money and you will be healthier.

Thoughts on meal replacements: Don't buy them.
Waste of money, and they don't fill you up. Just eat real food0 -
Just eat real food...food is not the devil.0
