Thoughts on meal replacements...

Hi All, I am wanting to get some input on meal replacements? I feel that I eat a pretty balanced diet...a lot of veggies and protein and the carbs I eat are from fruits and whole grains. I have started to read some stuff on meal replacements (mainly b/c I am seeing people posting about the powders they are using) and wondered to the benefit of them and if I should be replacing one of my meals with one of the many options I see out there (shakeology is the one I am seeing a ton of people talk about). Thoughts? Opinions? Suggestions?
Thanks!

My response is how much do you like to eat? I love to sit down at a meal, each and every meal, and slow down, enjoy. Part of my problem is this love, but w/portion control and better choices I can change my body. I use my vitamix if I am unable to sit and enjoy (rare as I am a planner) or was given a bumper crop of something. Otherwise, and here I am sure I'm in the minority of MFP, the act of eating w/fork, spoon, knife, or fingers, is a pleasure.

Unnecessary, usually overpriced, and I'd rather eat real food anyway.

Personally, they are either over prices, full of crap or lack the good nutrients.

    Nothing beats whole food IMO!

Just say no. You can get all the nutrients you need with real food. There isn't anything magic.

Thoughts on meal replacements: Don't buy them.

Waste of money, and they don't fill you up. Just eat real food
