deficit for 2 weeks/maintain for two weeks

Instead of doing a 250 calorie per day deficit all month,I was thinking of doing a 500 calorie deficit for 2 weeks & then maintaining for the other 2.i have about 4-5 lbs to lose_Has anyone tried this approach? thoughts or insights appreciated!

    As I get closer to goal, I've slowed my loss down(on purpose) and do 1 month of maintenance followed by 2 months of cutting, aiming for a target of .5-1 pound a week loss.
    I initially tried the 2 week approach and wasn't seeing any benefit with that time frame.
    The 2 week time frame may be something that you'll be able to work with though.
