I have a polar watch for tracking calories, Hr, and time but I am looking for a new watch which tracks distance as well as I am now trying to run a marathon. I have looked at new polar, Garmin and fit blaze watches. Could anyone recommend a good watch that doesn't cost a fortune for runners. Thanks geri

I'd go with a Garmin. I've had 2. I currently have the 235 which is great. I don't think it cost a fortune but price is obviously subjective. You should look at DC Rainmaker's website for reviews on various watches and comparisons.

Yep, I'd go with a Garmin. I had the Forerunner 205 many years ago and I've just bought the Forerunner 25 (there are higher spec ones, but the 25 is perfect for me - costs $140). The Forerunner 35 is $200 and has a heart rate monitor.

I think I must have read all of the DC Rainmaker reviews before making my choice.

I have a Garmin Fenix 3 and love it.

I don't think anyone touches Garmin for a pure running watch. Most of the other brands are general fitness trackers.

I want to vary my activities, including golf once it warms up. So I've got a Garmin vivoactive HR. Has HR, GPW and is waterproof. Seems decent enough for running and can track a lot of other activities, including golf.

The Vivoactive HR is a great general watch and works pretty well for running although the screen is a bit small. I tend to still use another Garmin (a 220) for running for that reason however I use the HR and instant pace information quite a bit when running - if you don't look at your watch all that often when running then the Vivoactive would be a good choice, but if you do then something like the 235 would be better.
