How do you clean your blender?

I have a friend that says she doesn't take her blender apart to clean it. She just fills it half full of hot water, puts in a teaspoon of Dawn, runs the blender for a bit, dumps it out and then rinses it out real good.
Sounds simple, but I'm wondering if that's really getting it clean enough. Anybody else doing that?

If it doesn't come a part to put in the dishwasher I throw in a dab of soap, hot water and run it for a minute.0

Good evening. We also run ours for a couple minutes with some hot soapy water then rinse. Sometimes though we also have to use a wet cloth after wards and give it a good wipe to make sure everything is nice and clean. It all depends on what u make in it.0
