Lifting and scale

Hi there! I have started a progressive overload heavy lifting workout and I am in week 2 . I lift 6 days a week for 90 minutes each session. I am in a calorie deficit and am wondering how it will wage on the scale? Will I still see a decrease on scale?

Yes unless you are retaining water.

You should, yes. It might be or SEEM slow if you retain water from the heavy lifting. I find that if I'm already pretty lean, the loss is a bit slow as well.

Did you jump right in from no lifting to lifting 6 days per week?

No I have been lifting for quite awhile, But I had stomach hernia surgery in September, So since the surgery I have been doing a circuit on the machines with light weight. Last week started to lift heavy again with Barbells, Dumbells and such

Every time I lost weight I had a heavy lifting program. I used MFP to watch my calories and did cardio. I lost the most weight fastest for some reason when I ran outside. Funny you are asking this question because I lost 25 pounds and for a month have been at about the same weight... so I need to change something. I'd like to lose at least 20 more pounds.

So that is great! you gave yourself plenty of time to heal before getting back into it!

If you are truly in a calorie deficit you will see it reflect on the scale. The bigger the deficit, the bigger the weight loss. When cutting, I try to be in a 500 calorie deficit per day. That translates to losing 1 pound per week. You're probably much lighter than me, so you might not want to lose that much per week or you could risk losing muscle.
