Carbs

Hey,
I was wondering how I would know how many carbs to eat a day? I am watching my calorie and sugar intake, but am not sure on the amount of carbs that I should be eating. I have read a lot of contradictory information and it has left me unsure.
Any advice would be great.

Work on meeting protein and fat goals (going over is okay too)......unless you have medical issues carbs are what's left over. Weight loss is about eating fewer CALORIES than your body expends. Protein & fats are generally going to be more filling. Some people eat high carb (vegetarians) and lose weight.0 -

1) Do you have any health issues that require you to moderate your carb intake?
2) What foods satisfy you the most?
If the answer to question 1 is "no", the only thing you need to think about is the answer to question 2.
There is no amount of carbs that is best for everyone. It really depends on what satisfies you and fuels your body the best. There are people here who are strong advocates of Low Carb High Fat diets. ketogenic diets, Atkins, and other low carb diets. There are just as many who eat a higher carb diet.
I would start out with the defaults MFP gives you and pay attention to your hunger and satiety signals. If you seem more satisfied after a higher protein meal, then consider adjusting your macros accordingly.
Personally, I am T2Dm so I do have a limit of 180 g of total carbs per day.1
