What are some jogging benefits? I really want to get started but I would love to know if it benefits health a lot and in what ways!

Thank you! My goals are just to become more fit and be healthier than I am now.

It's great for your heart and it's a fun way to explore your own neighborhood or anywhere else you can get to by foot.

You will improve your cardiovascular fitness which comes with a myriad of health benefits.

You will improve your endurance and overall fitness.

You will expend more energy than you otherwise would not doing anything.

    • It's cheap: no gym membership (unless you choose to run all your miles on a gym treadmill), only "special" equipment needed is reasonably good shoes
    • It's convenient: do it whenever works in your schedule, no gym class schedule or "rush hour" on machines to contend with
    • It's easy to start as a beginner (c25k or other run-walk program to start) and progress at your own comfort level to longer, more intense workouts as you get fitter.
    • You can have outdoor time!
    • Get to know your neighbors, make dog friends (I flirt with ALL the dogs on my route)
    • It's easy to track your progress (are you covering more mileage? are you covering the same mileage faster?) w most cellphones
