Not sure if I'm going about this the right way

I started trying to lose weight (after many tried and failed attempts over the last couple years) about a month ago. I decided to go a bit easier on myself this time because I'm fairly sure I gave up in the past from being too strict and not enjoying myself. I started by first cutting pop/soda or of my diet and I haven't had any in nearly two months now! Then I started staying as close to 1,500 calories a day, and now I'm doing 1,200 calories and going to the gym every other day, just doing light cardio for 30-45minutes (I don't have a lot of time to do much more unfortunately). I also started taking the stairs instead of the elevator at work. I have stared to see some change! I noticed my neck, fingers and wrists are thinner. My worry is that I may not be tracking things like I should be. I haven't weighed myself in probably two years. Even when I go to the doctor I look away because I don't want to know. I thought that it might be okay, because I understand I need to be patient to see results and I'll be able to tell I'm losing weight by paying attention to the way my clothes are fitting me. I'm not sure though, what do you think? I'm wondering if I should start tracking my weight because I might not see a one pound difference in the way my clothes fit but knowing that losing that pound might give me a sense of accomplishment?

If you don't know how much you weigh, you can't know if your calorie goal is appropriate. It's possible you could eat more and still lose.

Cutting out soda isn't entirely necessary if it fits your calorie goal, but if you stay on track better without it, then it's not a bad idea.

Is what you are currently doing working for you? If yes, stick with it. If no, change.

    Can't argue with that.
