Not new to MyFitPal - but new to posting... so, hello!

I've struggled with my weight since I hit puberty (early) at the age of 9. I would chunk up, grow, chunk, grow and so fourth until I stopped growing and kept chunking.

I'm not big into sweets or junk food, but have a hard time keeping my diet from being carb heavy. Roughly a year ago I was diagnosed with PCOS and was advised a large percentage of my weight problem was due to the PCOS. It's been recommended that I go gluten free and even try Paleo; I've also thought about cutting out dairy, but my fear is the drastic change in diet will set me up for failure.

When I was diagnosed I weighed my highest, at 225lbs. I'm now down to 190lbs, I attribute most of my weight loss to being put on Metformin. My goal is find the activities and diet that keep me on a healthy path where I look forward to exercising daily, love what I eat, feel great, and can get off of Metformin.

I'm looking for input from fellow PCOSers, those who are gluten & dairy free, Paleo dieters and really anyone with sound, experienced advice. Always looking to add some new fitness buddies to help motivate and keep each other accountable!

Sorry for the long post! Keep rockin'!

Hello! My name is Victoria. I've had PCOS for nearly 6 years, and I've gained almost 70 lbs in that span of time. I was always put on metformin and sprinolatone, but never really stuck with them longer than a month. However, I now see other changes in my body that are 100% caused by the PCOS that have caused me to start back on the medicine and hopefully stick with it. Over the past two years I've lost 50 lbs on my own, but gained 20 back this year (due to a stressful job that I FINALLY quit). Now that I'm starting to take my meds seriously, I hope to lose that 20 and then some! I look forward to hearing about your success and journey as well. Keep me updated!

Hi Victoria! Thank you for sharing your story with me! I have a hard time sticking to my medication as well. It's hard to remember to take them regularly but I've stuck to taking them for about 9 months and started noticing positive changes within 6 months. I hope you stick to them to help with your symptoms!

Congrats on Losing 50lbs, that is amazing! What did you find helped you the most to see results? I feel like I've tried so many things, and although I've lost 30lbs, I don't feel like I see results.

Good luck on your continued journey, I'll be routing for you!
