    the more active you are the more calories you burn. its not at a set step count. at least not that i have noticed and i have used a Fit Bit since 2014.

    I think it has more to do with when the FitBit tracker syncs with their app. Then when their FitBit app syncs with MFP. So you have a couple of syncs that may be auto or manual and may delay if no wi-fi connection exists. If you are asking how many calories per number of steps it is dependant on stride, weight, size etc.

    I have a Fitbit Charge 2, weigh 148 lbs., have MFP set at Sedentary Activity Level, and have Fitbit negative adjustments enabled. In the morning, I wake up with zero steps and a negative Fitbit Calorie adjustment. At about 2600 steps, the Fitbit adjustment turns positive. If I continue to be active throughout the day, it stays positive.

    I have mine set at sedentary, also. I too have to get a couple thousand steps before I start getting exercise calories. I don't have negative calorie adj set due to having a 1200 goal. I don't want to go below that..

    It depends more on your total calories burned according to Fitbit, and your activity level setting on MFP.

    If you're set to Sedentary you'll earn extra calories with less real world movement than if you are set to lightly active.

    If you are a sloth in the morning and do your activity/cardio in the evening, it will be later in the day that you exced MFP's calorie expectations. If you get up and run a few miles first thing, you'll probably earn calories from the run. But if you're a sloth for the next few hours some of that will come back off.

    I'll use me as an example, for my #s, rounded off.

    MFP expects me to burn about 1800 calories total per day based on my stats and activity level. THis works out to about 75 per hour.

    My BMR is about 52 per hour. WHen I wake up and sync, FItbit tells MFP I've burned 312. Its 6am. I'm behind the 75x6 = 450 that MFP expects, so I have a negative adjustment.

    Thru the day as I move and/or go for a walk/run/etc. Fitbit keeps track of my total calories burned. LEts assume at 1pm it is 1000. MFP expected me to be at 975 (75 x 13 hours passed so far) so I'd show a positive adjustment of 225.

    Each time I sync, MFP compares what it thinks I should be at in terms of calories burned to what Fitbit says I am at. This is how an adjustment is determined.

    ~~~~~
    To figure out your #s set your MFP goal to maintain. How many calories does it assign you? Divide by 24. THis is what MFP expects per hour. That compared to the Fitbit burn based on the time of day will determine your adjustment.
