Can I eat cupcakes today even though I only ate cake yesterday?

    You're an adult. Make decisions about food. Sometimes I eat ice cream for breakfast. I'd probably not only eat cake one day and then cupcakes the next...but I might choose to eat a giant piece of cake for dinner one night and then get back on track the next day.

    You can do whatever you want. Just keep in mind short-term satisfaction vs your goals.
