My fat goal. What's missing here?

Wish I could attach a screen shot here.

When I look at my daily nutrients, my goal for fat shows it is set 81 g. My goal for saturated is set at 21, monounsaturated is 0, polyunsaturated is 0, and trasfat is 0.

So...where's the other 60? Anyone know what I'm missing?

There are no RDAs for monounsaturated and polyunsaturated, so MFP sets it to zero (N/A would be more appropriate, but I'm guessing they set up the database so those fields can only accept numerical values). The widespread recommendation of national health policy organizations is to avoid trans fats completely. The saturated "goal" is intended as a ceiling. What MFP is really trying to say is eat around 81 g fat, no more than 21 g of saturated fat, and no trans fats. Feel free to have as much mono and poly unsaturated fats as you can fit within your overall fat goal.

FYI, the essential fatty acids (the ones your body can't manufacture itself) are found in polyunsaturated fats.

Thanks! That was exactly what I needed to know. I knew the fat "goal" shifts with exercise as it's based on a percentage of total calories, but I wasn't sure where the number came from when the only one showing was the saturated.

    Now I know.
