I am exclusively breastfeeding my son who is almost a year old. He definitely isnt trying to stop anytime soon lol! I want to continue my breastfeeding journey as well as a weight loss one as well! I have pcos and from my highest weight I'm down 50 pounds. I am hovering at the same weight I was when I got pregnant... I had lost an another 25 but gained it back after pregnancy

Hey there. First off, I think its wonderful you're still going strong on your breastfeeding journey! My daughter is a little over a month old and I plan to breastfeed as long as she deems necessary, hehe. I've got about 15 pounds to lose but finding the time and energy along with maintaining a healthy diet, not so easy. I'd love to help motivate one another! I did it once, I'm determined to do it again, as I'm sure you are!

    Hi,

Since it sounds like breastfeeding is your little ones main source of nutrition still, make sure you approach weight loss slowly as not to compromise your supply. Start at maintenance for your height and weight + breastfeeding calories, and subtract slowly. Try taking 100 calories away for a week, and see how your supply holds up. Then cut a little more the next week. If you see a drop in supply go back to maintenance for a few days to help get that back up, before dropping again to where you were able to still maintain supply. It would be wise to be sure you have supplemental nutrition on hand for baby, just in case! Let your body set the pace for now as you are still putting alot of demands on it, in the future once weaned you can take a more aggressive strategy if desired.

This post has alot of great info for breast feeding moms, so I hope you find it helpful:
