Has anyone found Green Tea helped them lose weight? Along with proper eating, etc.

I don't know about weight loss but I enjoy a cup in the afternoon when I get the munchies. I've been replacing snacking with a cup of tea and save my snack for the evening, or vise versa whatever I feel that day.

Green Tea tastes nice and the caffeine will probably give you a bit of an energy boost and help you hydrate (not unlike a cup of coffee) but it's not a magical potion. and won't make you lose weight, only a calorie deficit will do that.0

Sure it can help, if you drink it instead of more calorific drinks. Green tea has 0 calories compared to, say, something like a Starbucks whippedchocofrappelattemochaccinospresso which has somewhere around a zillion calories. Other than that, there's nothing magical about green tea. Calorie deficit is what causes weight loss.0

It's a nice drink and I have 2 bags at once for a caffeine kick but it does nothing for weight loss on it's own.1

I have 2-3 cups of green tea a day simply because I enjoy the taste. And there's nothing better than sipping a warm cup of tea at my desk.
Weight loss effects? Zero. Zilch. Nada.1 -

nope.
If you like the taste, then drink it. however, it does not contain any magical properties that aid in weight loss.1 -
Having a nice tea sometimes helps me deal with cravings when I don't want to eat more calories. But there's no special property of green tea, or any other food or drink, that promotes weight loss.0

If you like green tea, try Tazo's zen. It's a blend of lemongrass and spearmint, super yummy!1

My favorite part about green tea is it keeps my mouth hole occupied while waiting for dinnertime to roll around.3

There is a fable that Chinese Oolong tea curbs appetite. Get the real stuff from a specialty store as a "loose" tea.
Japanese green tea with toasted brown rice (Gen Mai Cha) is also very good.0 -

Tea in general makes me less hungry. Green tea is my favorite.0

So...Yes. As you see:
1) if it replaces a drink with calories
2) if it replaces a snack
3) if it gives you energy to be more active
It's a very valuable tool, but not a magic one.

Drink it if you like it - personally I think it is nasty - but it doesn't make you lose weight - only a calorie deficit will do that.0

Green tea "boosts metabolism", but what does that mean exactly? I doubt it's a noticeable effect. If you change nothing other than drinking green tea instead of some other drink of equal caloric value, you are probably not going to see any results. At least, none so rapidly that it would make you think "yes, green tea is great for weight loss". In the sense that "every little bit helps", yes drink green tea if you like it. But the results you see will be mostly coming from eating right and exercising.0

It doesn't work for me. I need to eat a bar of chocolate afterwards to take the taste away
However, I drink other teas (fruit, herbal) and they help by giving me something to suck on which has no calories.1 -
I drink around 3 - 5 cups a day. I simply love the taste of it. I dont think it has helped me with weight loss0
