Hello,

I am a new member to this website. I have played around with the calorie counter for several days, and many hours, however, I cannot create the perfect day that meets all of the necessary nutrients. Can someone please help?

The only food group that I do not eat is pork.

My daily goal is 1,500 calories,188 carbs, 50 fat, 75 protein, 2,300 sodium and 56 sugar.

Dont strive for perfection - you are just beginning this journey, and you may have to play around with some of the numbers to find what works for you, through experience, and trial and error.

For losing weight, just focus on the calorie number, and dont exceed it. Earn more calories with intentional exercise. Try not to complicate the process and enjoy the ride!

If your goal is weight loss, calories are king, so make that priority number one.

Macros are a guideline, you don't have to hit them necessarily and many people customize their macro goals. Based on my reading here, most people view protein and fat as a minimum, and let carbs pick up whatever is less, unless they are doing a low carb diet, where they are trying to keep their carbs under a certain amount.

As far as sodium and sugar, you just have to see where you are blowing those and find ways to cut back. I don't have any health issues so I don't even track sugar. In general, processed foods have more sodium.

To get more specific info, you would probably have to open your diary, but hope that helps.

I agree with @cross2bear . Do not try to achieve perfection. You will be a happier person.
I use the target macros, as a target not as absolutely mandatory.
I strive to meet my protein target for day
I try to get my carbs from complex carbs ( i.e grains, vegetables, fruits ). Whatever is left, would be fat. I buy healthy fats such as nuts, avocado, olives . I am not perfect and I accept it
    Hope it helps
