So, I have a year.....

Hi MFP,
So, I've been on quite a long journey to shift the weight - I've lost around 6 stone over the past 7 years, and a lot of that has come over the past 12 months.
I've settled in at anywhere between 87 and 89 KG (seems to vary massively dependant on the day, time, and whatever mood my crappy scales are in..... New ones on their way!), and I'm just setting myself up for one last push.
My goal is to get under 85 KG, preferably somewhere around the 81/82 mark by next August when I get married.
Now, whilst I've done a fair bit of reading, and I'm well aware of some dietary changes I will need to make (damn my chocolate and cider cravings!) and I have an idea of what I plan to do, I thought it worth polling MFP to see what your views are.
So the question is this:
If you were aiming to set down a target of losing 7KG in 12 months, what would be the key dietary tips you would recommend I research, and what would be the key exercise regimes you would adopt to aid this?
I know there will be a lot of different views and opinions, but it is always useful to poll the crowd, and then I can work something up myself.

7kg is only about 14 pounds right? So, even if you have your MFP settings to lose just half a pound a week you'll easily do that in 7-8 months. Just do exactly what the computer tells you and do some exercise to build your lean muscle mass and you'll be absolutely fine.0

Yep. Simple and effective.0 -
If the primary driver of your goals is your wedding, I would consider focusing more on strength training than losing weight. I would recommend eating at a small deficit and doing a heavy lifting program (there are a number of threads about 5x5 or stronglifts for more info).
I might even just eat at maintenance calories for 4-5 months and take on a strength training program 3x/week. That's what will make you look good in wedding photos.
If you decide the changes from strength training alone aren't what you're looking for, you can always start eating at a small deficit January and have plenty of time to lose weight before the wedding. I think the strength training is what you'll really want, though.0
